M/S Silk Line – Terms and Conditions for Bus Services

Welcome to M/S Silk Line! These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our bus services. By booking a ticket or traveling with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Ticket Purchase and Validity

  • Booking: Tickets can be purchased online through our website/app, at authorized M/S Silk Line counters, or from our agents.
  • Accuracy: It is your responsibility to ensure that all details provided during booking (e.g., date, time, destination, passenger names) are accurate. M/S Silk Line will not be held responsible for errors made by the passenger.
  • Ticket Confirmation: Upon successful booking, you will receive a ticket confirmation via email or SMS. This confirmation serves as your valid ticket. Please keep it accessible.
  • Identification: Passengers must carry a valid photo ID (e.g., Aadhar card, Passport, Driving License, Voter ID) during their journey. This may be requested by M/S Silk Line staff for verification purposes.
  • Non-Transferable: Tickets are generally non-transferable. Any changes to passenger names may be subject to a fee and M/S Silk Line’s discretion.
  • Validity: Tickets are valid only for the date, time, and route specified on the ticket.

2. Fares and Payments

  • Fare Structure: Fares are subject to change without prior notice. The fare applicable is the one displayed at the time of booking.
  • Payment: Payments can be made via various methods as specified on our booking platforms (e.g., credit/debit cards, net banking, mobile wallets).
  • Taxes: Fares are inclusive of applicable taxes, unless otherwise stated.

3. Cancellations, Refunds, and Amendments

  • Cancellation by Passenger:
    • Cancellations made by the passenger are subject to a cancellation fee. The specific fee and refund amount will depend on the time of cancellation relative to the departure time. Details will be provided during the cancellation process.
    • No refunds will be issued for “No-Shows” (passengers who do not board the bus).
    • Refunds, if applicable, will be processed within a specified timeframe to the original payment method.
  • Cancellation by M/S Silk Line:
    • M/S Silk Line reserves the right to cancel or postpone services due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., mechanical breakdown, adverse weather conditions, natural calamities, operational issues).
    • In such cases, passengers will be offered a full refund or an alternative travel option, subject to availability. M/S Silk Line will not be liable for any additional costs or compensation incurred by the passenger as a result of such cancellations.
  • Amendments:
    • Date/time changes or route changes may be permitted, subject to availability and an amendment fee.
    • Changes can only be made up to a certain time before departure.

4. Boarding and Travel

  • Reporting Time: Passengers are advised to report at the boarding point at least 15-30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.
  • Late Arrival: M/S Silk Line will not be responsible for passengers who miss the bus due to late arrival at the boarding point. No refunds will be provided in such cases.
  • Seating: Passengers must occupy the seat number allocated on their ticket. Changing seats without permission from M/S Silk Line staff is not allowed.
  • Behavior: Passengers are expected to behave in a respectful manner towards M/S Silk Line staff and co-passengers. Disruptive or offensive behavior will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the bus without refund.
  • Alcohol & Smoking: Smoking and consumption of alcohol are strictly prohibited on board the bus.
  • Food & Beverages: While light snacks and non-alcoholic beverages are generally permitted, passengers are requested to maintain cleanliness and dispose of waste responsibly. Strong-smelling food may not be allowed to ensure comfort for all passengers.

5. Luggage Policy

  • Permitted Luggage: Each passenger is generally allowed one piece of luggage (e.g., suitcase) and one small hand-bag/backpack. Specific weight and dimension limits may apply and will be communicated at the time of booking or departure.
  • Excess Luggage: Excess luggage may be permitted subject to availability of space and payment of an additional charge. M/S Silk Line reserves the right to refuse excess luggage.
  • Valuables: Passengers are solely responsible for their valuable items (e.g., jewelry, cash, electronics). M/S Silk Line will not be liable for any loss, damage, or theft of valuables carried in luggage or on person.
  • Prohibited Items: Hazardous materials, flammable substances, weapons, illegal goods, and any other items deemed unsafe or unlawful are strictly prohibited on board.
  • Luggage Damage/Loss: M/S Silk Line takes reasonable care of luggage. However, in the event of damage or loss, our liability is limited. Passengers are encouraged to declare valuable items or insure their luggage if necessary. Claims for lost or damaged luggage must be reported immediately to M/S Silk Line staff.

6. Children and Special Passengers

  • Children: Children below a certain age may travel free or at a reduced fare if they do not occupy a separate seat. Please check specific policies during booking. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Infants: Infants must be securely held by an accompanying adult.
  • Passengers with Disabilities: M/S Silk Line aims to provide accessible services. Passengers with special needs or disabilities requiring assistance are requested to inform us at the time of booking so that necessary arrangements can be made.
  • Pregnant Women/Senior Citizens: While we strive for comfortable travel, these passengers are advised to take necessary precautions and consult with their doctor before travel.

7. Delays and Breakdown

  • Delays: M/S Silk Line endeavors to operate services on time. However, delays may occur due to traffic congestion, road conditions, mechanical breakdown, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances. M/S Silk Line will not be liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by such delays.
  • Breakdown: In the event of a mechanical breakdown, M/S Silk Line will make every effort to arrange an alternative bus or provide necessary assistance to ensure passengers reach their destination with minimal disruption.

8. Pets

  • No Pets Allowed: For the comfort and safety of all passengers, pets are generally not allowed on M/S Silk Line buses, with the exception of service animals as per applicable laws, provided prior arrangement is made.

9. Force Majeure

  • M/S Silk Line shall not be held liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these Terms if such failure or delay is caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, acts of civil or military authorities, fire, floods, accidents, strikes, or shortages of transportation facilities, fuel, energy, labor, or materials.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

  • These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Your Country/State]. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of [Your City/District].

11. Amendments to Terms and Conditions

  • M/S Silk Line reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. The updated Terms will be effective upon posting on our website. It is your responsibility to review them periodically.
